Homemade Instruments in the Global Music Classroom - Workshop
EMBRACING THE NEW MUSIC EDUCATOR PROGRAM
IN CONJUNTION WITH NORTHEASTERN DISTRICT IS OFFERING THE FOLLOWING WORKSHOP
HOMEMADE INSTRUMENTS IN THE GLOBAL MUSIC CLASSROOM
PRESENTER: ANTHONY BEATRICE, PENTUCKET REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

FEE: THIS IS A FREE PROGRAM AND IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST25 REGISTRANTS!
A budget, what's that? Who has enough money these days for instruments? This clinic will focus on how to incorporate homemade instruments in the world music classroom for any level of education. Though our discussions and creations will take place in one classroom, we will be visiting Indonesia, India, Ireland, Brazil, Africa, and Australia in a two hour time frame. We will also focus on incorporating math and literacy into the curriculum. Each participant will leave with a packet of lesson plans for immediate use along with sources for greater exploration. Additionally, each person will get to make their own homemade didgeridoo and pan pipes to take home!
