The Northeastern District of the Massachusetts Music Educators' Association has established an award to recognize outstanding achievement and leadership in music. Up to four (4) $500 awards will be made to graduating seniors selected for our Northeastern District Senior Ensembles. The executive board, whose results are final, will screen the applications. In the event of a lack of qualified applicants, the awards committee reserves the right to award fewer than four awards.
I. Eligibility
A. The applicant must be a graduating senior and selected to a 2021-2022 Northeastern District Senior Festival
B. The applicant must be an active member and supporter of his or her high school music organization(s) where applicable and be in good standing with
their school community.
C. The applicant must be applying to and planning to attend an accredited four year degree granting college or
university. (The award check will not be sent until we have received proof of acceptance. proof must be submitted by June 1st and no checks
will be written after June 30th.
II. Application Procedure
A. The applicant must submit the following items by April 1, 2022
1. Completed Application Form
2. One (1) Letter of Recommendation from Ensemble Director
3. Your high school transcripts including first semester grades from this year
B. All application materials must be submitted electronically through the Northeastern District website.

C. The award recipient must send proof of acceptance to an accredited four-year degree granting college
or university by email to Stephen Correia, MMEA-ND Treasurer - treasurer@northeasterndistrict.org
D. No statement of financial need is required.
